I am Alan Porter, the designer of Satellite display systems. After a many years supplying and installing graphics for Exhibitions, Events, Shop Window Displays, Conferences and Public Buildings, I was very aware of a gap in the market for sign and pricing holders, which were both well designed and fast to change.

I wanted to move away from the typical moulded plastic holders, and create a collection of high-end display units that were both good-looking and engineered for robustness and durability.

To this end I devised a range of interchangeable magnetic price holders, initially with the Fashion Retail industry in mind, and soon acquired major name customers including Austin Reed, New Look, Vyella, M & Co, River Island, Cecil Gee, Rohan, and others.

Their success was such that I then designed and engineered the Satellite range to offer the same convenience when using digitally printed signage and display material.

The satellite range now encompasses Floor Standing, Wall Mounted, and Counter Top models, and can be seen in such diverse environments as Hilton Hotels, The Royal Festival Hall, Twining’s Cafés and the Arsenal football club.

I am still developing new display products, extending the Satellite range to incorporate electronic media, as well as working with individual clients to create bespoke display items.
